My Top 13 Favorite Scary Moments in Video Games

So Much Nope.

Sadly, this one didn’t make the cut

While last week involved rambling off about weird and eerie things in real life, I think I’ll make a return to the realms of pop culture.  In this case, I’m talking about video games!  Or rather, I should say moments in games that genuinely creeped me right out!  Now, there are plenty of moments that truly disturbed or scared me a bit, but only a couple moments felt truly memorable.  Let’s start with some runner ups, shall we?

From the Vaults: BioShock Infinite – Burial at Sea p. 1

I haven’t been posting too much of my Tumblr archive lately and that’s my own fault. Here’s a look back at the first part of the Burial at Sea DLC for BioShock Infinite. I still look back at both of these with mixed emotions. It’s nostalgic, but ultimately kind of hollow.

BaS p1

Today, we return to Rapture with the first half of the BioShock Infinite DLC, “Burial at Sea” The story revolves around Booker and Elizabeth mysteriously in an alternate Rapture prior to its collapse on New Years 1959. But, there’s a lot more to the series to that! A mix of wonderful moments and pitfalls as well. So, let’s go somewhere beyond the sea and into the sky with the BioShock series!

WARNING: This review contains massive spoilers. You have been warned.

For those who’ve kept up with the BioShock universe, every installment is a vicious cycle of character torment. And now, the series comes full circle! The last chapter in the wibbly-wobbly series of BioShock is finished. The gaps have (for the most part) been filled and the two settings have truly united. And now, we’re making our final stops to Columbia and Rapture. The party may be over, but let’s take one final journey below the sea! This time, we navigate Rapture as Elizabeth during the prologue of the Rapture Civil War.
